This Ontario village was among the places mentioned, and with its charming ambience and postcard-worthy scenery, it's no surprise this spot is is a favourite for couples in search of a romantic escape.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a historic village located about 2 hours from Toronto. According to Tourism Niagara, the town is full of "Victorian era 19th century charm" and features "boutique shops, cast-iron planters bursting with flowers, and horse-drawn carriages transporting riders to another time and place."

The town is basically made for lovers and was named one of the world's best honeymoon destinations for 2024.

There are so many things to enjoy together while visiting this spot. The town is surrounded by wineries so you can spend a day wandering through lush vineyards and sipping boozy drinks.

There are also lots of spas where you can get totally pampered, such as 100 Fountain Spa and Spa at Q.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is also known as the "Culinary Capital of Canada" so expect to enjoy some incredible candlelit meals. Some popular destinations include Treadwell Restaurant, Cannery Restaurant and Kitchen 76.


During the holiday season, the town transforms into an "authentic Christmas village" and has "Hallmark film" written all oven it.

The most-voted for romantic city in Canada was Old Montreal, but if you're looking for something a bit closer to Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake is worth a road trip.
