This small town 1 hour from Montreal was named the most beautiful in Canada

Frelighsburg is located in Quebec's Eastern Townships and was named one of the most beautiful villages across Canada by Culture Trip.

The travel publication ranked the top 20 most beautiful small towns and villages in Canada, and a handful of Quebec spots managed to make the cut, including Frelighsburg, which sits only an hour outside of Montreal.

"Ranked among Quebec’s most beautiful villages, Frelighsburg is set in a gorgeous location at the foot of Mount Pinacle, on the banks of the Pike River. Located near the Vermont border, the village was settled in the late 18th century by American Loyalists," Culture Trip said.

The surrounding valley thrives as an apple-growing region, with numerous cider houses and orchards scattered throughout the countryside

Visitors can get hands-on and pick their own apples at local farms including the Verger de Coeur de la Pomme or indulge in delightful apple-based treats like ice cider.
