After years of development and anticipation, Montreal's Royalmount mega-mall is finally set to open its doors this week.

If all goes to plan, this first phase of the multi-billion dollar project will be ready for customers on Thursday, offering 170 shops, including 60 restaurants and cafés — half of which are completely new to the Quebec market, a press release says.

Visitors to the 824,000-square-foot luxury shopping complex, located off the Décarie expressway in midtown, can also expect to enjoy an expansive urban park, a year-long public art trail with over 60 pieces, a European-style gourmet food hall called Le Fou Fou and a one-stop global beauty and self-care destination called Rennaï.

While there is still some time left before you can check out Royalmount for yourself, media and influencers were invited to a special preview, giving all of us a first look at the space on social media.

"Guys, this place is gonna be so amazing," says content creator Vanessa Perez in an Instagram video where she can be seen walking through treen-lined, earth-toned hallways beneath a long glass ceiling. The caption reads: "Shopping, art, food… everything’s here to make your day!"

In the post, Perez passes by the entrances to Max Mara, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, David Yurman, La Vie en Rose, Jimmy Choo, Browns Shoes, and more.

On Instagram, Julie Etienne of Mademoiselle Jules described Royalmount as "a game-changer for Montreal—a whole new way for us to work, learn, play, and live together" following a private tour.

"The European vibes remind me of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan," she wrote. "I love how Royalmount is focused on connecting people, embracing creativity, and making sustainable living a priority with tons of greenery and easy public transit access."

Etienne also teased the selfie-worthy bathroom, calling it "an attraction itself."

With little time to spare, much of the footage on social media shows construction still in progress as workers add finishing touches.
