Montreal is often regarded as one of the top food cities in the world, so it's no surprise that celebrities flock to some of the best Montreal restaurants during their time here.

Whether it's an actor filming a movie in Montreal, a singer with a stop at Centre Bell or an athlete in the city for Montreal's F1, high-profile names are no stranger to the Montreal food scene.

Here are 14 Montreal restaurants that celebs have eaten at while visiting the city.

Jennifer Aniston — Mandy's Salad

In 2018, Friends actress Jennifer Aniston paid a visit to Mandy's for a taste of their delicious salads.

"Felt like over-excited teenyboppers today hosting this down-to-earth beauty [Aniston] for lunch," Mandy's owner Rebecca Wolfe wrote on Instagram. While we aren't sure what Aniston ordered, it's safe to say the star enjoyed her meal, considering she was all smiles in the photo.

Idris Elba — St. Viateur Bagel

Montreal bagels remain unparalled and while New York City is among our top competition, it appears as if celebs are in the know when it comes to our bagel game.

In fact, Idris Elba himself stopped at St. Viateur for a taste of one of Montreal's best bagels back in 2019. Now, the actor and DJ will be returning to Montreal this August for îLESONIQ.

The bagel shop has also served a few other major names, including actor Adam Sandler and his family in 2018.

Nick Kroll — Arthur's Nosh Bar

The hilarious Nick Kroll has also shown some love for Montreal's food scene after his visit here in 2019. The actor and mastermind behind comedic characters on-screen paid a visit to Arthur's Nosh Bar where the team pranked the American actor with the tiniest bagel stuffed with way too much tuna.

"I felt like a real idiot. A bonafide dunce. A verifiable schmuck," Kroll wrote on Instagram.

Shawn Mendes — Café Aunja

During Mendes' tour stop in Montreal back in 2019, he and ex-girlfriend Camilla Cabello were spotted getting all cozy at a Persian Montreal café.

The duo were sparking dating rumours at the time, considering they hadn't publically announced their romance. However, Shawn and Camilla were spotted making out at Café Aunja in Montrela's downtown core, which ultimately became major headline news and only added more fuel to the dating rumour fire.

Luke Evans — Joe Beef

Joe Beef is often regarded as the Montreal restaurant to go to. The eatery is often bustling with public figures, including Barack Obama and Justin Trudeau, as well as Hollywood faves including Luke Evans. The actor and singer, known for his work in Murder Mystery, The Hobbit and Dracula Untold, stopped by Joe Beef back in 2018.

Kevin Hart — Le Queue de Cheval

Any steak lover knows that Le Queue de Cheval Steakhouse was one of the best spots for a prime cut in the city, so it's no surprise comic and actor Kevin Hart wanted to get a taste of their meaty goodness.

In 2019, the star paid a visit to Le Queue de Cheval while filming his movie Fatherhood in Montreal and posed alongside one of the staff at the time.

Despite being one of the top spots in the city for some time, the Montreal restaurant has since permanently closed.

Liam Gallagher — McKibbin's Irish Pub

Oasis' very own Liam Gallagher surprised Montrealers at McKibbin's Irish Pub with a performance of several fan fave tracks. The event occurred the weekend Gallagher was performing at Montreal's Osheaga festival in 2017.

Christina Aguilera — The Coldroom

During her time filming Zoe back in 2018, Christina Aguilera and a few of her gal pals paid a visit to one of Montreal's best bars: The Coldroom.

The singer can be seen posing for a pic alongside three of her friends while sitting at The Coldroom bar enjoying a few cocktails and it's safe to say this girl knows what she wants.

Eric Wareheim — L'Express

Master of None actor and comedian Eric Wareheim was recently in Montreal and visited a handful of restaurants, including L'Express.

The star posted a series of photos onto his Instagram page of his culinary pursuits in Montreal and it's safe to say Wareheim ate very well while visiting. The actor also made sure to hit up spots such as Ma Poule Mouillée, Joe Beef, St. Viateur Bagel, Resto Beba, the sugar shack at Au Pied de Cochon and Lester's Deli for some iconic Montreal smoked meat.

Nick Carter — Burgundy Lion

During The Backstreet Boys show at Centre Bell back in 2022, Nick Carter surprised Montrealers with an impromptu performance at Burgundy Lion in Montreal's Saint-Henri.

Carter performed with his guitar to a room full of die-hard BTB fans, who were all singing along. Carter later stayed and chatted with fans and even signed a few autographs.

Blake Lively — Café Alphabet

With Ryan Reynolds filming his latest flick in Montreal's Village, Blake Lively also paid a visit to the city recently and tried out a few spots that she adored including Bernie Beigne and Café Alphabet, which is experiencing a phenomenal year following the success of their pink Freddos.

During her time at the café, Lively sampled each Freddo and even got a bit of some backstory on the delish Greek beverage.

Celine Dion — Schwartz's

Céline Dion not only frequents Schwartz's but the Quebec singer is one of the owners and has been for well over a decade. Dion, along with Paul Nakis, Martin Sara and Eric Sara, are all part owners at one of Montreal's most iconic restaurants.

While the queen of Quebec currently lives in Las Vegas, a Montreal visit is well overdue and Schwartz's Deli is calling Dion's name.

Oprah Winfrey — Ferreira Café

The former queen of daytime television visited Montreal last back in 2019 and ate at none other than Ferreira Café in downtown Montreal.

"In honour of the entire Ferreira family and team to have Oprah and her team as guests today," the restaurant captioned the shot on Instagram. We wonder if she gave them all a new car…

Chris Evans — Le Garde Manger

In 2020, Captain America himself visited Montreal's Le Garde Manger. Chris Evans can be seen posing alongside the kitchen staff, who were beyond thrilled to be hosting the Marvel actor.

"Sometimes heroes don’t wear capes or masks, they wear aprons! In the picture is Chris Evans who was kind enough to take a pic with the crew, his story is one of perseverance, and lots of grinding before becoming Captain America," the restaurant wrote online.
