On April 21, the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) announced that American airline JetBlue will be adding its first-ever Canadian destination.

Kicking off in the summer of 2022, JetBlue will add non-stop routes to Vancouver from both New York and Boston, according to the announcement.

The flights to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York will be year-round and the Boston flights will be offered on a seasonal basis.

JetBlue is a low-cost airline headquartered in New York and before now, it has never included any Canadian destinations.

"Right now, we encourage only those who need to travel for essential reasons to do so, but hopefully sometime soon we will all be able to travel the world again safely," YVR wrote in the press release.
