Canadians rated how 'demure' their province is and yikes, Newfoundland and Labrador

Very mindful?

Everyone has heard about this trend (if you haven't... how?) and it's now made its way into the never-ending rivalry of Canadian provinces.

Canadians are often province-proud and will vouch for their home being the best the country has to offer. A new study has come into the mix, revealing which province Canadians think is the most, and least, demure of all.

Casivo collected the data for the study, polling Canadian residents on how "demure" they considered themselves, as well as their location. The results came in and Saskatchewan took first place for having the highest amount of demureness, at a score of 6.8 out of 10.

In last place, with a score of 4.5 out of 10, sat Newfoundland and Labrador.

For those wondering, the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines demure as "affectedly modest, reserved, or serious," so you can draw your own conclusions about what this means for the beloved provinces.

The second-lowest score was actually a pretty decent jump up, with a 5.6 out of 10 for Price Edward Island. There's seemingly a trend with East Coast provinces, but New Brunswick and Nova Scotia turn things around.

New Brunswick came in second-highest place with a score of 6.4, and Nova Scotia in third with 6.3. For all you Ontarians out there, apparently, you're also on the high end of the scale with a 6.2.

What is the demure trend?

This trend started on TikTok but now has taken over, finding its way into marketing, pop culture, and everyday life. The original video, created by Jools Lebron, has over 40 million views. Lebron is showing people in the video how she shows up to work, and people loved her description of it — specifically the words "demure" and "mindful."

Since the original video went viral, people have hopping on the trend, calling out what they think is "very demure" and "very mindful."
