It's the berry best time of the year! Strawberries are sprouting across the province and if you're looking for a fun summer day trip, you can head to one of these pick-your-own farms near Toronto and collect some berries.

There are lots of farms just outside of the city where you can wander through sun-filled fields and fill your basket with fresh, juicy strawberries to take home.

Pingle's Farm Market

Price: $8 admission, $12 + per basket

Why You Need To Go: Pingle's Farm Market is a fun spot to escape the city and pick some fresh produce. The strawberry picking has already begun and you can find endless red berries throughout the fields.

The farm also has pick-your-own asparagus, farm animals, wagon rides, strawberry-themed treats and a play land to enjoy.

Applewood Farm

Price: $14 admission per person, includes a 2 litre basket

Why You Need To Go: This charming farm is a fun spot to pick your own berries. Throughout the season, you'll also find pumpkins, apples and more available for picking.

The farm is home to some adorable animals and also has a market where you can shop for maple syrup, butter tarts and other goods.

Why You Need To Go: You'll find over 25 acres of strawberries in nine varieties at this farm outside of Toronto. From the glossy Honeoye to the juicy Cabot, you'll want to try every type of strawberry in the field.

Throughout the summer, you can also pick your own peas, potatoes, flowers and more for a fun warm-weather outing.

Why You Need To Go: Strawberry season has arrived at this pick-your-own farm near Toronto.

The farm is spread over 165 acres and features walking trails, wagon-rides, a playground, animal corral, straw mountain climb, a corn maze, photo ops and more.

Throughout the season, you can pick your own asparagus, rhubarb, fresh berries, flowers and other fresh produce.
