14 Celebrities Who Have Spent The Holidays In Canada & Where You May Spot Them This Christmas
You never know who you'll run into at the Toronto Christmas Market. 🎄
Many celebrities love spending their summers in Canada, but Christmas is another time of the year when you may see certain Canadian celebs coming home for a visit.
Who knows, you might bump into Justin Bieber or Shawn Mendes at the Toronto Christmas Market or maybe Finn Wolfhard and Ryan Reynolds will be back in Vancouver to celebrate the festive season.
Celebrities tend to show their home cities a lot of love whenever they're visiting, so let's hope if they do indeed come to Canada over the holidays they share plenty of photos from their trips.
Here are 14 Canadian celebrities who may spend Christmas on this side of the border and where you could spot them if they do.

Pop-star Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber may be coming to Ontario to spend the holidays with Justin's family.
While he may no longer live full-time on this side of the border, Justin still comes to Canada to visit quite often.
A few years back Hailey even shared a photo from the Toronto Distillery District.
We could see the couple visiting the Toronto Christmas Market if they do take a trip to Ontario this December, and we wouldn't be surprised if they also go to a Leafs game!
Drake
Drake has been spending more time in Toronto following the end of his It's All A Blur Tour so there's a very good chance he'll spend Christmas in the city.
The Canadian rapper has been spotted filming music videos in the city, going to parties and he's been known to go to his fave restaurants while he's in town so you can basically bump into him anywhere!
Shawn Mendes
Shawn Mendes has spent the holidays at home in Ontario in past years so it's likely he'll be there again this year.
Back in 2017 before Hailey Bieber was Hailey Baldwin, she and the "Stitches" singer were spotted at Toronto's Christmas Market together. Then in 2020 Mendes brought Camila Cabello home to Pickering for the holidays.
So if you're in Toronto over the holidays, keep your eyes peeled for this local!
Nina Dobrev
Another celeb who could be spotted around Toronto over the holidays is Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev.
Although she doesn't live in the city anymore, it's safe to assume she still has some family and/or friends living there.
Dobrev and her boyfriend Shaun White were last spotted taking in the sights in 2022 when White posted pics of the two of them by the CN Tower.
Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds was recently back home in Vancouver for a special ceremony so here's hoping it wasn't his last B.C. visit for 2023.
The Deadpool actor was inducted into the Order of British Columbia in mid-November and shared on Instagram how much he enjoyed being back on Canada's West Coast.
After receiving the special honour in November, the Canadian actor spoke with the Vancouver Sun and admitted that moving back to B.C. with his wife Blake Lively and their four kids is not off the table.
"We’ve been — I guess I could characterize it as — subtly looking for a while," he told the outlet.
Michael Bublé
Singer Michael Bublé lives in Burnaby with his wife and four kids so there's a very good chance he'll be celebrating Christmas in Canada.
On December 13, the singer shared a photo of himself sitting on Santa's lap so he's clearly getting into the holiday spirit!
Finn Wolfhard
Finn Wolfhard may live in L.A. full-time, but the Stranger Things actor still considers Vancouver his "home-base," according to a 2023 interview he did with GQ.
With that said Wolfhard could be coming to B.C. to celebrate the holidays with his family.
The Canadian actor often visits restaurants when he is in the city so keep your eyes peeled if you go to any of the places he visited over the summer like JJang Korean BB & Social House and Little Bird Dim Sum.
Anna Cathcart
In between all her global travels,XO, Kitty actress Anna Cathcart spends a lot of time in Vancouver. The young star grew up in the city and is a student at the University of British Columbia.
In late October, the To All The Boys I've Loved Before star shared photos on her Instagram from what looks like a beach in Vancouver and the UBC campus.
Hopefully this means Cathcart will be sharing some winter pics from the city, possibly from the Vancouver Christmas Market or skiing at one of the province's ski resorts.
Simu Liu
Simu Liu has been back and forth between the U.S. and Canada a lot this year and we love seeing what he gets up to on this side of the border.
Liu was in Toronto for the Barbie press tour over the summer and then spent the Canada Day long weekend with his girlfriend Allison Hsu in Muskoka.
Since Liu has been showing Hsu around the province where he grew up, we think it's a good idea he shows her Toronto around Christmastime as well.
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan still lives in Mississauga, the city she was born and raised in, so it makes sense she would enjoy some festive events in the city or nearby in Toronto.
The Never Have I Ever actress also has her birthday coming up at the end of December so she has a lot to celebrate over the holidays!
Shay Mitchell
Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell and her partner Matte Babel are both from Ontario so you may see them out in the city if they decide to come back for the holidays.
If they're not in Ontario, Mitchell and her fam might decide to go to Canada's West Coast instead as they do spend a chunk of every summer in Vancouver.
Either province is a great option to spend Christmas!
Nelly Furtado
Nelly Furtado has lived in Toronto for years so you might see her doing some Christmas shopping at Pacific Mall.
The "I'm Like a Bird" singer told Narcity in an interview that she likes to go there when she needs to get away from the city.
It looks like Furtado also has a soft spot for Christmas in Victoria, B.C., which is where she grew up.
"There's nothing like Christmas in Victoria. Grab a Christmas Lights Map and hit the streets, head to Butchart Gardens for the Christmas light show, check out the local production of The Nutcracker, or throw on a pair of skates and skate the afternoon away at your local rec centre," she once said about B.C.'s capital city, according to a press release.
Seth Rogen
Seth Rogen was just in Vancouver in November where he celebrated a family event at a dim sum restaurant called Little Bird Dim Sum.
The Pineapple Express actor often visits the B.C. city and is known to share his love for Vancouver's food scene.
"I am polite. I smoke a lot of weed. I eat a lot of seafood. You know, I wear a lot of Birkenstocks and polar fleeces. I think I truly embody the Pacific Northwest spirit," he once told ET Canada regarding the influence Vancouver has had on his lifestyle.
Sandra Oh
Sandra Oh is a proud Canadian and often shares snaps on her Instagram when she's visiting, including this past Canada Day when she took a photo with a couple of Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers.
The former Grey's Anatomy actress grew up in Ottawa and spent years living in Toronto and continues to look back at that time fondly.
"I love downtown because I grew up suburbs, I grew up in Nepean [Ottawa]. I'd take the bus down and just hang out downtown, you know, walking along the canal just hanging out downtown," Oh told Narcity in an interview.
We hope that means she'll be spending time in either city over the holidays.
